Hi, I’m Maree
I offer counselling and psychotherapy within a compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel seen, heard, and accepted.
I bring over 25 years of experience supporting children, young people, and their families across diverse settings, including recreation programs, out-of-home care, child protection, and community projects. In 2020, I transitioned into counselling, carrying with me a deep, practice-based understanding of intergenerational and complex trauma.
I work within the context of family, providing generalist counselling support for teens and adults, while also supporting parents and carers to build emotion coaching skills with their young children. My work supports individuals in exploring the impact of early relationships and life experiences on current patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating.
Therapy can support greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and self-compassion, while fostering a stronger sense of identity, meaning, and wellbeing. My approach is holistic and integrates a range of evidence-based and client-centred modalities including Somatic and Mindfulness-based practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapies such as ACT, and Psychodynamic approaches.
My practice is collaborative and responsive, tailored to each client’s unique needs, developmental stage, and therapeutic goals.
As a late diagnosed ADHD'er and parent of neurodiverse children (Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism) I bring lived and professional experience of neurodiverse strengths and challenges, working alongside you and your nervous system in a compassionate, neuro-affirming way.
